Data Sharing for Neighbourhood Renewal: Lessons from the North West

Analyses barriers to effective data sharing for neighbourhood renewal at a local, regional and national level, illustrates good and promising practice, and draws out success factors. Highlights the importance of leadership within partnerships; skills in making the case for sharing; understanding the legal context; and the use of technology, networks and protocols. Key messages for local strategic partnerships, Government Offices and the ODPM Neighbourhood Renewal Unit. (NRU research report 18; also Summary)

Evaluation of the Business Broker Programme - Final Report

Research report for Business in the Community and the ODPM on the national pilot programme, testing out the role of Business Brokers supporting business involvement in Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) and neighbourhood renewal.

Kickstart Norfolk: evidence of jobs and accessibility needs  in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire

Project investigating needs amongst disadvantaged people for moped loan and work-based learning, and potential to develop services across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. (Report available in Kickstart download section.)

Mapping voluntary and community organisations in Luton and Bedfordshire

Report on mapping research to identify VCOs with a potential interest in services to be  provided by Luton and Dunstable Partnership's ESF Capacity Building Project. Involved interviews, desk research and an on-line survey.

Linking Thinking Evaluation

Evaluation of the ‘Linking Thinking’ programme, a cross-agency initiative to build the skills, knowledge and confidence of staff in GO East, EEDA and EERA who are involved with neighbourhood and local level partnerships. 
 

NRU Skills and Knowledge Programme Evaluation

Final reports from our evaluation of the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit's Skills and Knowledge Programme. This has sought to support performance improvement in Local Strategic Partnerships and other neighbourhood renewal partnerships, and help equip everyone with a role to play with the skills they need.

Published  by the Department for Communities and Local Government, it includes topic overviews, how to guides, case studies, project summaries and much more. EDuce has contributed subject overviews in the 'Reviving Local Economies' theme, on Business Development; Land, Property and Planning; and Engaging Employers - along with a number of case studies. Other items include an overview on Data Sharing, and a case study of Data Sharing and Wigan and Leigh Community Safety Partnership.

Self assessment tools on Economic Development and Regeneration and on Neighbourhood Renewal designed to help local authorities review the way in which they develop, deliver and improve their economic development and regeneration services and activities. Produced for IDeA (the local government Improvement and Development Agency) and based on the Local Government Improvement Programme Model. Linked to a Peer Review service provided by IDeA.

'Mutual Advantage: Working with Voluntary and Community Organisations on Learning and Skills'

Report on research and development project in Hampshire, Sandwell and Wigan, on the opportunities and implications for the voluntary sector and the LSC of the new learning and skills agenda. Project report for DfES, published April 2001.
